1, 2001 - Sage Software, Inc., the leading supplier of business
management software solutions in the mid-market, today announced the
close of the purchase of Platinum for Windows, a PC-based financial
application for small enterprise businesses from Epicor Software
Corporation. The product joins the Sage Software family of mid-market
business management suites.
The acquisition of Platinum for Windows expands and
strengthens Sage's market position in the US by adding 5,600 customers
and 200 channel partners to Sage's market-leading channel and customer
base. The combined Sage Software customer base will exceed 210,000.

Platinum for Windows will join the four other Sage
Software products in the US market: Sage MAS90, market leader for
companies with 10 to 500 employees; Sage Enterprise Suite, a robust
application for companies up to 1,000 employees; Sage BusinessWorks,
designed for companies up to 50 employees; and Sage DacEasy, a
streamlined product for smaller businesses.
