PRINTING LASER CHECKS IN ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
If laser checks are printing too low, one thing to initially try is to increase the number of lines per page on the laser printer. This should bring up the bottom lines; however, it may also throw off the top line. Attached is a sample of an ALTEC laser check and a printout of a laser check. No third party products are used. The settings are 66 lines per page on a HP LaserJet IV. In the menu ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/FILE MAINTENANCE/ SYSTEM DEFAULTS/NAME & OPTIONS, answer YES to dual purpose payroll checks. When using laser checks you must have the ascii file APOLDCHK in either the X:\PLATINUM directory if using laser checks for all companies, or if you are using laser checks in a specific company, the ascii file should be in X:\PLATINUM\"CO KEY" directory. NOTE : FROM VERSIONS 4.02 ONWARDS THE ASCII FILE TO BE CREATED IS APLAZCHK.
