ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE DEFAULT TAX RATE IN

The following is a description of the options for Default Tax Rate in Accounts Receivable Name & Options:

C: Use the tax rate in the customer file. (Reads ARCUST only.)

I: Use the tax rate in the Item Location file. (Reads IVLOC only.)

B: If there is a tax rate in both the customer file and the item location file, use the rate in the customer file, otherwise don't use any tax. (Reads both ARCUST & IVLOC.)

b: If there is a tax rate in both the customer file and the item location file, use the rate in the item location file, otherwise don't use any tax. (Reads both ARCUST & IVLOC.)

x: If the tax rate is in the customer file and the item location file is the same then use that tax, otherwise don't use any tax. (Reads both ARCUST & IVLOC.)

'B' & 'b' could be used when there are customers and items that are either taxable or non taxable. For example, lets say you have a tax exempt customer and a taxable item. If you use 'B' or 'b' this invoice would not be taxed because there is no tax in the ARCUST file. If this had been a taxable customer and a taxable item key & you used 'B' it would be taxed at the customer's tax rate....OR....if you used 'b' it would be taxed at the item location's tax rate. In other words, it will only tax when both the item key and the customer are taxable. The tax rate it uses depends on whether you use 'B' or 'b'.
