MAINTAINING THE SALES HISTORY RECAP FILE
In regards to maintaining the Sales History Recap File, the Year-end close is the only process that maintains this file. For example, if you have a purchase in the year 1992, and a purchase and a sale in the year 1993, the Sales History Recap File will have all three transactions. When the year-end is performed as of 12/31/92, Platinum initializes the History Recap file, and rebuilds it with records from the Transaction History File that have a date after 12/31/92. It then creates a new file called IVPDHST92. this file can then be utilized at a later date. The Month-end procedure in Inventory has no effect on the History Recap File.
