This error occurs when the sorter is unable to complete the assigned task. The error message on the screen displays the file name, file number, etc.. However, the most important parameter displayed on the screen is the KEYNUM% (Key Number). This number is the error number generated by the sorting utility, and can be used against the tables below to aide in trouble-shooting the problem. 210 - Error creating output file This may occur when the sorter is attempting to write to the PLATINUM\[USER] directory. Please check the user rights, designated user directory space, and the remaining user disk space. 214 - Error opening input file This indicates the Btrieve file cannot be located. Please check the user rights and the drive specifications in the Multi- Company File Maintenance. 226 - Error reading file Please Recover the Btreive file and re-run the option. If this does not correct the problem, the file is severely damaged and must be Restored from a recent backup. 240 - Error writing file to disk The probable cause of this error is not enough disk space. 300-399 Are not expected errors Contact Support. 603 - Btreive error This error may occur when using Expanded Memory on a 386 machine in a DOS environment. The work around is to place the characters "/e" at the end of the Btreive line in the batch file you use to start up Platinum. Example: Btreive line in the file NETSTART.BAT file before adding the "/e": btreiven /m:64/p:1536/f:200 Btreive line in the file NETSTART.BAT file after adding the "/e": btreiven /m:64/p:1536/f:200/e 600-699 Btreive errors. Since the sorter makes standard Btreive calls to access the database, the Btreive record manager may return a bad status code. The 600 series represents these status codes in the last two characters of the number.
For example : error number 612 translates to Btreive error 12. error number 618 translates to Btreive error 18. (Please refer to the Btreive Error messages for further information on these error conditions.) 1000- 1999 Contact Support |
