Passing the User Name when Starting Platinum This methodology is used primarily by users of non-Novell networks and users starting Platinum from Windows. Windows users should define a PIF using the -1 parameter to access the maximum amount of memory. Verify the PLT.CFG as follows:
Y BTRIEVEN /M:64/P:1536/F:125/e/o Change line 6 of the NETSTART.BAT as follows: Line 1: echo off Line 2: echo Starting Platinum (Multi User) ... Line 3: set Platinum_Shell=Platinum Shell - Line 4: utload1 Line 5: rem Btrieve parameters are set in PLT.CFG
Line 6: PLT /USER:user_name %1 %2 . . .
Individual batch files would be necessary for each user in Platinum with their login-name in place of user_name on line 6 above. For example, for user Anne PLT/USER:ANNE would be set up under the batch file ANNE.BAT. If defining a PIF in Windows the command line would be x:\PLAITNUM\NETSTART.BAT. Where x: is the drive where Platinum is installed. And in the Optional Parameters box specify /USER:user_name.
